* In December, the NHC and several other organizations decided to stop using X as a communication platform due to algorithm changes and the widespread promotion of disinformation and hate speech. Like many others, we have instead migrated to Bluesky.
‘We would like to thank you for supporting the projects helping us implement such necessary international advocacy activities. Since 2022, MIHR has conducted more than 10 side events in the OSCE, presenting analytical materials based on the hundreds and thousands of documented cases on arbitrary liberty deprivation of Ukrainian civilians. The MIHR team convinced core decision makers that the topic is important. Thanks to your support, all this work and its results are possible.’
Liliia Chulitska, Media Initiative for Human Rights (MIHR)
Finances and donors
The total spending in 2024 was 88.2 million NOK, of which project support for partners constituted NOK 48 million. The total income balance was NOK 91.2 million.
The Norwegian Helsinki Committee's primary donor is the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Other donors are The Fritt Ord Foundation, Open Society Foundations, the National Endowment for Democracy, Nordic Council of Ministers, BUFdir, IMDI, and the European Endowment for Democracy. The NHC also receives support from private donors and companies, including Yara International ASA, and the law firms Wikborg Rein, Selmer, and Matrix Advokater. Gifts and contributions provided an income of NOK 800 000.
We are deeply thankful for all contributions, big or small, made during the year. Without your support, our work would not have been possible.
